Bale might take over the role of Terminator instead of the Govinator going back which may be good but McG is directing which may be bad. But who knows.

Bale is T4?

Also, there was a great article  on Asian American actors on Cinematical. It’s great to see something like that on a film blog that covers mainly mainstream and independent films.

If you have an American Express card, check out their wishlist deals. You’ll have to be quick on the trigger if you want in, but there are some real nice things available. Some of the trips seem really worth it and I may upgrade my camcorder.

So Jet Li and Jackie Chan are making a movie. I should be excited about this but from the footage here, it just looks like all the martial arts films from the 80’s and 90’s from Hong Kong repacked into a Hollywood film. And then Jackie speaks in the end…in English. Err….

Anything with a nostalgic fanbase is ripe for motion picture adaptation. If you didn’t know, stuff like G.I. Joe and Knight Rider are in production. So is cult anime Dragonball Z which if you know anything about is a fairly crazy anime with crazed fans. When I first heard about this being made into a live action movie, I was so not interested in the mess that was to come. Stephen Chow is executive producing the movie and is hopefully handling the bulk of the action and effects. Now this sounds interesting.

With the WGA  strike on, internet shows like Quarterlife are trying to take off. There are problems with the first episode but I was more impressed with it than I’d thought I’d be.

Pollution in China November 7, 2007

China is becoming a strong economic force through low cost manufacturing and strong labor force, but there are environmental consequences to the rapid success. As they ramp up, the resulting pollution can cause health problems and the fate of the population living there becomes at risk. Also, your favorite summer blockbuster films may get delayed.

Looks like the WGA is starting to picket. Writers are looking to get a better deal out of new avenues of distribution over the next several years. Late night programming will be hurt immediately. I haven’t been watching many of the new television shows programs (watching shows on DVD – currently: Flight of the Conchords-Season 1 and Veronica Mars-Season 1), but no doubt, by the time the end of the fall season arrives, if the strike continues, the quality should suffer noticably.
