Monie Love (had a crush on her back in the day) was fired from a Philly radio station a while back for stating that hip hop was dead. While I can’t endorse a blanket statement like that, I do agree that today’s hip hop is overly commercialized and not what it used to be. And if you look at the numbers, hip hop is falling off.
Now there’s new evidence to contribute to the argument…

You may have seen the PC vs Mac commercials the Apple have been pushing out on television. Some are pretty funny but having just seen the British version, I must say that their version comes away wittier than the US counterpart.

I’ve been meaning to catch The Science of Sleep when it was in the theaters but it was one of the many films I haven’t had time to go see. I must say that Michel Gondry is a really creative, intelligent individual who makes some great videos. Watch his Director’s Series DVD to see what I’m talking about. He even made a very watchable film with Jim Carrey. He’s a multi-talented guy. Just watch this clip:
